While eating dinner on the deck, I noticed an odd, metallic looking shimmer on the leaf of a leland cypress. Upon closer examination, I discovered the shimmer was in reality a spider web with a cool spider hanging out right in the center, belly towards me. I grabbed my Nikon D2x and Nikon 80-400 VR lens along with my Nikon SB-800 and Manfrotto tripod and went to work. The sun was just about set (behind the cypress) and the light in the yard was pretty dim and greay, hence the flash.
