This files was stitched using the 700K .jpgs and rendered to a .TIF file.
The resulting file is 108MB, 13,168 pixels x 3,562 pixels (approx 46" x 12")
Saved in Photoshop as a .PSD file (129MB)
Saved as Medium (6) .jpg files = 2.5MB (That's the one you're looking at).
Got MUCH better dimensions here, a more "meaty" picture.
STRANGE:
The images looks all broken and misaligned in REALVIZ. So bad, that I wasn't even going to render it. I did it anyway just for the heck of it. And to my surprise? All the brokenness is gone. I guess the s/w doesn't really do WYSIWYG.
Look closely at the window shade and light on the window to the LEFT of the front door. It's toally MANGLED. Not sure why.
I could certainly have selected a better spot to center on, but I wasn't really thinking about that - remember, I just rendered for the heck of it expecting garbage.
Total rendering time: 50 minutes.
P4, 2.8GHz, 1GB RAM.
Note: I just about ran out of disk space during the process - I didn't realize I was that low... Not sure if that had any effect on the processing time.
I'm feeling good about this now, much better than before.
