MISSION OF THE IMMACULATE VIRIGN
Some images form my first visit to Mission of the Immaculate Virgin in Staten Island. Today was my initial visit intended to introduce myself and MEI to these folks. The visit went very well. They need a fair amount of IT help, and are willing to get it. I'm going back next week to begin the project by inventorying their current equipment and software. The next step will be to design a solution for them and eventually implement and support it.
After our meeting, I had the opportunity to take a look at their "telco" room in the basement. WOW, it's like a museum in there. I think there are thing in that room that the Smithsonian Institue would like to get their hands on including a VERY old GTE telephone system that contains circuit boards made of CARDBOARD! And the UPS powering the thing is a bunch of car batteries strung together!
